We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team at ProCare Therapy.
Key Responsibilities- Implement Behavior Plans: Collaborate with students to apply behavior intervention plans and help them achieve specific goals.
- One-on-One Support: Provide personalized assistance to students, reinforcing positive behaviors and teaching vital new skills.
- Track Progress: Accurately collect and record data on student progress, including behavioral changes and goal achievements.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with teachers, special education staff, and other professionals to ensure consistent support and implementation of strategies.
- Create a Positive Environment: Help maintain a structured and nurturing classroom environment that promotes student success.
- Provide Insight: Offer valuable input during team meetings to refine and adjust behavior intervention plans as needed.
- Maintain Communication: Keep supervisors informed of student progress and any challenges, while upholding ethical standards and confidentiality.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelors degree in psychology, education, or a related field preferred.
- Certification: Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification.
- Experience: Prior experience working with children, particularly those with autism or developmental disorders, is highly desirable.
- Skills: Strong understanding of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), excellent communication, observational, and interpersonal skills.
- Qualities: Patience, empathy, and a strong commitment to improving the lives of students with special needs.
