Job Title: CO-OP Student Success Specialist

Montana State University is seeking a highly motivated and experienced CO-OP Student Success Specialist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with students from diverse backgrounds and help them achieve their academic goals.

Job Summary:

The CO-OP Student Success Specialist will provide academic mentoring, tutoring, and social support to CO-OP students. This includes advising students on completing equivalent nursing prerequisites, using independent authority to determine if a student should appeal a decision or file a grievance, and guiding students in completing scholastic appeals and navigating terms for continuing in nursing coursework.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide academic mentoring, tutoring, and social support to CO-OP students
  • Advise students on completing equivalent nursing prerequisites
  • Use independent authority to determine if a student should appeal a decision or file a grievance
  • Guide students in completing scholastic appeals and navigating terms for continuing in nursing coursework
  • Use case management principles to refer students to academic and personal success resources
  • Assist with the planning, coordination, and evaluation of student orientations, graduations, and bridge courses
  • Communicate with students using distance delivery technologies
  • Create and support case management models for each year of the four-year CO-OP Program
  • Work with the Learning Management team to ensure CO-OP students engage in student success resources
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated experience in program development, management, implementation, and delivery assessment
  • Demonstrated competence using personal computers and various software
  • Demonstrated experience communicating with constituents with diverse backgrounds and experiences
  • Experience working successfully in a team-oriented environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a related field
  • Demonstrated experience with project management, case management, or social work
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing knowledge of American Indian cultures, history, and contemporary issues
