Your Role in Action
  • Collaborate with lead teachers to bring individualized educational plans (IEPs) to life, ensuring each student's unique needs are met.
  • Provide hands-on assistance with personal care tasks and expertly manage behavioral crises, offering unwavering support to students during classroom activities to foster a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Harness the power of positive behavior support strategies to cultivate essential social skills, enhance communication abilities, and promote independence among students.
  • Cultivate a warm, supportive atmosphere where students feel valued, respected, and empowered to embrace their journey of learning and growth.
  • Document student progress and maintain open lines of communication with parents, caregivers, and the multidisciplinary team, ensuring everyone is informed and involved in each student's educational journey.
Your Skills and Talents
  • Age requirement: Must be 18 years or older to be eligible for employment.
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Driver's license: Valid and current U.S. driver's license required.
  • Availability: Monday through Friday 7am-3:30pm. This is a year-round program, including summers.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and empathy towards individuals with diverse abilities and backgrounds.
  • Qualities: Reliability, compassion, and patience, coupled with a genuine passion for making a positive impact in people's lives.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adjust to varying needs, preferences, and communication styles of those we support.
  • Flexibility: Capacity to adapt to changing environments and respond effectively to unexpected situations.
