As an Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Engineer, you will face the exciting challenge of collaborating across various engineering disciplines to ensure our hardware achieves the utmost standards of quality and dependability. You will have the exceptional opportunity to set up our internal EMI/EMC testing facility for both development and qualification assessments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the testing processes and configuration of the EMI/EMC environmental testing area and systems.
  • Work closely with design engineers to establish specifications for EMI/EMC environmental testing equipment, identify suitable vendors, qualify equipment, and facilitate its introduction into production.
  • Design and create test setups and fixtures for engineering development and qualification assessments.
  • Conduct EMI/EMC analyses, assess test outcomes, and compile test reports for stakeholder evaluation.
  • Lead investigations into root causes of issues related to EMI/EMC environmental testing equipment, fixtures, and procedures.
  • Develop procedures, standards, and tools to enhance testing operations and related processes.
  • Execute EMI/EMC assessments for both development and qualification hardware.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a testing environment.
  • Proficiency in radiated and conducted testing in accordance with EMI/EMC standards (MIL-STD-461, FCC, CISPR, CE, etc.).
  • Experience with RF testing equipment such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators, network analyzers, and power amplifiers.
  • Understanding of antennas and electromagnetic propagation up to 67GHz.
  • Familiarity with best practices in an anechoic chamber.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in automating laboratory measurements using Python or similar scripting languages.
  • Background in addressing EMI/EMC challenges for high-power electronics.
  • Experience with electromagnetic analysis tools (CST, HFSS, etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret PCB schematics, electrical interface drawings, and mechanical CAD documents.
  • Comfortable working with Linux and Python.

Astranis's pay ranges are determined through professional-grade salary surveys and compensation data sources. The actual base salary offered to a successful candidate will be influenced by various factors, including experience, credentials, educational background, skill level requirements, and the scope of the position.
