As an Electromagnetic Compatibility Engineer, you will face the exciting challenge of collaborating across various engineering disciplines to ensure our hardware achieves exceptional quality and reliability. You will have the significant opportunity to establish our internal EMI/EMC testing facility, conducting both development and qualification assessments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and maintain the testing processes and configuration of the EMI/EMC environmental testing area and associated systems.
  • Work closely with design engineers to specify EMI/EMC environmental testing equipment requirements, identify suppliers, qualify equipment, and facilitate its introduction into production.
  • Design and create test setups and fixtures for engineering development and qualification evaluations.
  • Conduct EMI/EMC assessments, analyze test outcomes, and compile test reports for stakeholder review.
  • Lead investigations into root causes for issues related to EMI/EMC environmental testing equipment, fixtures, and procedures.
  • Develop procedures, standards, and tools for testing operations and related processes.
  • Execute EMI/EMC testing for both development and qualification hardware.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a testing environment.
  • Proficient in radiated and conducted testing according to EMI/EMC standards (MIL-STD-461, FCC, CISPR, CE, etc.).
  • Experience with RF testing equipment (spectrum analyzers, signal generators, network analyzers, power amplifiers, etc.).
  • Knowledge of antennas and electromagnetic propagation up to 67GHz.
  • Familiarity with best practices for working in an anechoic chamber.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in automating laboratory measurements using Python or other scripting languages.
  • Background in addressing EMI/EMC challenges for high-power electronics.
  • Familiarity with electromagnetic analysis tools (CST, HFSS, etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret PCB schematics, electrical interface drawings, and mechanical CAD documents.
  • Comfortable working with Linux and Python.

Astranis's pay ranges are informed by professional-grade salary surveys and compensation data sources. The actual base salary offered to a successful candidate will be influenced by various factors, including experience, credentials, educational attainment, skill level requirements, and the scope of the position.
