Job Overview:

The United Negro College Fund (UNCF) is seeking a skilled Fundraising Manager to join our team and drive growth in emerging markets. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for securing fundraising targets, engaging donors, and leveraging relationships in Brooklyn, Queens, and Long Island.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to make a meaningful impact in our mission to build a robust pipeline of black students who become highly qualified college graduates. You will work closely with our Area Development Director to expand UNCF's presence in these new markets, identifying new revenue streams from events, grants, and partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising campaigns tailored to the needs of each region, including event planning and donor engagement strategies.
  • Establish strong relationships with local donors, foundations, and corporations, emphasizing regional growth and fundraising goals.
  • Implement special events and outreach initiatives to cultivate partnerships in these new areas.
  • Maintain consistent contact with current and potential donors, focusing on sustaining long-term relationships.
  • Identify and recruit volunteers and leaders in these communities to support UNCF's regional growth.
  • Manage donor files, reports, and campaign materials while tracking and reviewing development efforts focused on Brooklyn, Queens, and Long Island.

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and at least 5-7 years' experience in fund-raising, marketing, or public relations.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Ability to think critically and communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • Outstanding human relations and managerial aptitude, with a proven ability to work and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Exceptional responsiveness and a capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

What We Offer:

  • A competitive salary range of $83,500 - $94,000, commensurate with experience.
