Senior Practice Coordinator

Job Summary:
The Senior Practice Coordinator plays a vital role within the healthcare team, ensuring optimal customer service and operational efficiency.

At Brigham and Women's Hospital, we prioritize patient-centered care, and every team member contributes to enhancing the patient experience.

The Senior Practice Coordinator is responsible for managing the Check-In/Check-Out processes, fostering relationships with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to promote a collaborative environment.

This position also involves mentoring and guiding other staff members, ensuring adherence to high standards of service and care.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily operations of the Check-In/Check-Out team in collaboration with management.
  • Execute administrative tasks with minimal supervision, demonstrating high proficiency.
  • Provide exceptional customer service while assisting patients according to established protocols.
  • Lead the team by assigning tasks, prioritizing workflows, and troubleshooting issues.
  • Offer backup support for various roles as needed.
  • Monitor staff assignments and manage time-off requests effectively.
  • Collaborate with management to track performance metrics and improve service delivery.
  • Identify training needs and facilitate staff development to enhance service quality.
  • Assist in evaluating staff performance and conducting competency assessments.
  • Participate in the recruitment and onboarding of new team members.
  • Act as a resource for complex issues, providing guidance and support to staff.
  • Ensure compliance with privacy regulations and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Engage in special projects and additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of an Associate's Degree; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • At least three years of experience in a medical office or administrative support role.

Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong understanding of healthcare operations and standards.
  • Proficient in communication, both verbal and written, with the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Advanced computer skills and familiarity with relevant software applications.
  • Ability to analyze situations and determine appropriate actions within established guidelines.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes.
