Role Summary:

At LCB Senior Living, we believe in creating fulfilling experiences for our residents. We are seeking a dedicated Activities Director to enhance the quality of life for our senior community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Promote the mission and core values of our organization to residents, families, and the community.
  • Actively engage with potential residents and their families to foster community occupancy.
  • Oversee the comprehensive management of the Activities Program, ensuring its effectiveness and relevance.
  • Continuously assess and improve the Activities Program to meet the evolving needs of residents.
  • Manage departmental budgets and maintain accurate records of resident participation.
  • Facilitate open communication among staff, residents, and families regarding activities.
  • Coordinate resident and family events to enhance community engagement.
  • Collaborate with marketing efforts to build partnerships with local service providers.
  • Consult with residents and families to tailor activities to individual preferences.
  • Prepare and distribute activity calendars regularly.
  • Develop and manage a volunteer program to enrich resident experiences.
  • Organize transportation for residents to community events and activities.
  • Ensure all staff involved in the Activities Program are well-equipped and supported.
  • Conduct interviews and training for new activities personnel.
  • Maintain compliance with safety and state regulations regarding resident activities.

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

Candidates should possess good physical and mental health, with the ability to perform various physical tasks, including lifting and moving objects. A positive attitude and strong communication skills are essential for this role.

Qualifications:

  • Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Recreational Therapy or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: At least one year of experience in recreational therapy or a related field, preferably with the geriatric population.
  • Skills: Proficiency in computer applications and the ability to develop engaging activity programs.
  • Certifications: Certification as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist is preferred.
