Material Procurement Specialist

Accratronics Seals Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Material Buyer-Planner to join our team. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for the procurement of raw materials, machined components, contract manufacturing & services, and the leadership, oversight, and maintenance of material flow and logistical requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Coordinate procurement activities with Production, Quality, Engineering, and other personnel to ensure maximum operational effectiveness.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure timely availability of production materials, manage supplier relationships, and negotiate contracts.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to purchasing, storage, and transportation of materials.
- Develop procurement justification packages and cost analysis in accordance with FAR/DFAR requirements.
- Lead or participate in continuous improvement activities to optimize procurement processes and improve efficiency.
- Provide input in the Supplier Development process by evaluating suppliers' performance and communicating with suppliers to facilitate improvements in cost, quality, and delivery.
- Review supply and demand within MRP to ensure timely availability of production materials and manage inventory levels.
- Effectively manage raw material receipt, inventory, and distribution, including finished goods movement and shipment to customers.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of inventory movements and transactions, including Customer Furnished Property.
- Establish material requirements and requisition materials to ensure on-time delivery to production.
- Allocate existing inventory and create planned job orders in MRP for procurement of material.
- Ensure demand is generated properly for all materials and ensure timely release of Job Order and material kits based on production demand.
- Issue all shop floor point of use materials and report production in ERP.
- Arrange shipments, create packing slips, and perform logistical liaison functions.
- Interface with other functions to effectively and efficiently monitor material flow and work prioritization from customer order receipt to project close out.
- Support cycle counts and/or physical inventory audits, including root cause analysis and corrective action implementation associated with inventory inaccuracies.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement efforts and Kaizen activities.
- Lead, create, and energize positive change, and initiate investigation and involve key personnel to resolve problems that may impact scheduled shipments.
- Train other departments on inventory best practices and cycle counting.
- 3+ years of experience in Materials Management, Logistics, and Planning.
- Experience working with Aerospace and Defense procurement products and processes.
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred.
- Core competence in purchasing and materials control services, MRP/ERP systems.
- Ability to view at a high level the overall potential risks and impacts within the organization based on material planning decisions.
- Strong planning and organizational skills with ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and assignments.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills, with ability to communicate effectively and persuasively, verbally and in writing, to individuals at all levels and to cross-functional groups.
- Ability to effectively communicate and interact with all levels of management.
- Understanding of configuration management, supply chain, material control, manufacturing, and shipping processes.
- Experience with Import/Export requirements and international shipping.
- Good working knowledge of computer applications such as ERP/MRP, Proficient in MS Office Suite: Excel, Word, and Power Point.
- Ability to interpret and understand work orders as well as mechanical, technical, and electronic drawings, manuals, and other related documentation.
- Ability to motivate people, particularly in supply chain and materials management environment.
- LEAN Manufacturing concept implementation experience preferred.
- Master's degree, CPSM and/or CPCM certification a plus.
- Salary Range: $60,000 - $100,000 per year. Salary is determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
