Position Overview

Accratronics Seals Corporation is in search of a Procurement Specialist responsible for the acquisition of essential materials, machined parts, and contract services. This role encompasses the leadership and management of material logistics and flow within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with Production, Quality Assurance, Engineering, and other departments to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Engages in MRP system planning, supplier selection and development, negotiation processes, scheduling, and management of supplier contracts.
  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory standards regarding the procurement, storage, and transportation of materials.
  • Prepares procurement justification documents and conducts cost analysis in line with FAR/DFAR requirements.
  • Actively participates in continuous improvement initiatives within the company.
  • Contributes to the Supplier Development process by assessing supplier performance and facilitating enhancements in cost, quality, and delivery.
  • Monitors supply and demand through MRP to guarantee timely availability of production materials.
  • Manages the receipt, inventory, and distribution of raw materials and finished goods.
  • Maintains precise and timely records of inventory transactions.
  • Establishes material requirements and places requisitions to ensure on-time delivery to production.
  • Allocates current inventory and generates planned job orders for material procurement.
  • Ensures accurate demand generation for all materials.
  • Releases Job Orders and material kits promptly based on production needs.
  • Issues materials for shop floor use and records production in the ERP system.
  • Coordinates shipments, prepares packing slips, and performs logistical functions.
  • Works with other departments to effectively monitor material flow and prioritize work from order receipt to project completion.
  • Supports cycle counts and physical inventory audits, including root cause analysis and corrective actions for inventory discrepancies.
  • Engages in Continuous Improvement and Kaizen activities.
  • Leads initiatives for positive change and resolves issues impacting scheduled shipments.
  • Trains other departments on best practices for inventory management and cycle counting.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Materials Management, Logistics, and Planning.
  • Familiarity with Aerospace and Defense procurement processes.
  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field is preferred.
  • Proficient in purchasing and materials control services, as well as MRP/ERP systems.
  • Ability to assess potential risks and impacts related to material planning decisions.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills, with adaptability to changing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities, capable of engaging effectively with all levels of management.
  • Understanding of configuration management, supply chain, material control, manufacturing, and shipping processes.
  • Experience with international shipping and import/export regulations.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including ERP/MRP systems and MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to interpret work orders and technical documentation.
  • Capability to motivate teams, particularly in supply chain and materials management.
  • Experience with LEAN Manufacturing concepts is preferred.
  • Advanced degrees or certifications such as CPSM or CPCM are a plus.

Compensation:

  • Salary Range: $60,000 - $100,000 per year, determined by education, experience, and market alignment.
