The estimated hourly salary for this role is $15.75-$16.38/hour. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, reliability, and a commitment to the mission of Northside Common Ministries (NCM).

Job Summary:

The Resident Assistant (RA) plays a crucial role in ensuring a safe, supportive, and orderly environment for residents. Key responsibilities include supervising residents, enforcing shelter rules, conducting safety checks, and providing assistance with daily activities and needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Safety Checks: Conduct hourly safety checks and maintain detailed logbooks.
  • Supervision and Support: Provide supervision and support to shelter residents.
  • Conflict Resolution: Address and de-escalate conflicts and report incidents to the Shelter Coordinator.
  • Safety and Security: Ensure the safety and security of the shelter premises at all times.
  • Enforcement of Policies: Enforce shelter policies regarding behavior, and prohibited items.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date logbooks and incident reports.
  • Shift Handovers: Participate in shift handovers and ensure a smooth transition between shifts.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate staff.
  • Regulations and Procedures: Be knowledgeable of and follow all applicable regulations, procedures, and policies for Goodwill of SWPA as the employment sites.
  • Other Duties: All other duties as assigned within the scope of homeless services.
  • Cleanliness and Maintenance: Ensure cleanliness and general maintenance of facility, reporting any issues to the designated staff.
