As an Aircraft Maintenance Specialist III, your responsibilities will include the repair, replacement, and upkeep of critical aircraft components. You will conduct necessary inspections related to the mechanical and functional aspects of the aircraft, including testing and replacing defective or malfunctioning parts. Utilizing a variety of tools and equipment, you will diagnose parts requiring replacement and ensure that all repairs and maintenance adhere to national and international standards, while also maintaining a safe and clean work environment.

Essential Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent, typically with 5 or more years of relevant experience.
  • A higher-level degree may substitute for experience.
  • Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education.
  • An active, current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant certification with no prior FAA violations.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work locations.
  • Ability to pass written, oral, and practical assessments.
  • Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing in English.
  • Capability to understand and interpret relevant technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and publications.
  • Experience using tools and fixtures for depot-level modification and repair of structural components.
  • In-depth knowledge of aircraft-specific tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, and sheet metal brakes and shears is required.
  • Advanced skills in repairing, maintaining, and troubleshooting aircraft airframes and engines.
  • Must possess personal tools in good working condition.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in FAA repair station and/or Quality Assurance.
  • Willingness to travel regularly and/or work different shifts, including overtime and weekends.
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, U.S. Department of Defense, or U.S. Military.
  • Experience with wide-body aircraft, including but not limited to Boeing 767, 777, and 747.
  • Proficiency in basic computer operations.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position necessitates an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment. Non-U.S. citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Department of Defense Consolidated Adjudications Facility (DoD CAF) manages the adjudicative aspects of the security clearance eligibility process for industry applicants. Factors affecting the outcome of the eligibility determination include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the U.S., foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations, and illegal drug use.
