Job Description:

The Surgical Technologist plays a vital role in the Operating Room, ensuring the safety and well-being of patients undergoing cardiovascular and transplant procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare the Operating Room for surgery, maintaining a sterile environment and ensuring all necessary equipment is available.
  • Assist the surgeon during procedures, providing support and maintaining a safe and efficient workflow.
  • Care for patients during surgery, monitoring their vital signs and responding to any changes or concerns.
  • Manage and maintain surgical instruments and supplies, ensuring they are clean, sterile, and ready for use.
Requirements:
  • Minimum two years of scrub experience or equivalent relevant experience required.
  • Strong cardiovascular and transplant experience, including heart and lung transplant experience.
  • Experience in an Academic Level - Trauma center or similar size hospital.
  • Prior traveler experience highly preferred.
Licensure and Certification:
  • BLS - must be certified through American Heart Association ONLY.
Education:
  • Successfully completed a surgical technologist program or two years experience in Surgical Technologist role may be considered in lieu of completion of program.

  • Needs 2 completed references from recent work environment/assignments (supervisor or manager only from work performed in the last two years).
Location:

University Hospital, Madison, WI

Shifts:

36 hr/week, Day/Evening, 12 hour shifts, 10:40 am - 11:00 pm, Monday - Friday rotation. No weekends.
