Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients, responding to phone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist clients with animal-related needs, including adoptions, surrenders, and returns, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including animal transactions, customer notes, and adoption information.
  • Collaborate with animal care staff to ensure the well-being and care of all shelter animals.
  • Participate in marketing efforts to promote our programs and services, including special events and donation solicitation.
Requirements
  • Proven experience delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to think critically and multitask, with a positive attitude and empathy for clients and coworkers.
  • Basic math, reading, and writing skills, including the ability to comprehend and write simple instructions and memos.
  • Animal care knowledge of domestic animals, including breeds, behavior, and handling techniques.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and familiar with Shelter Buddy shelter software.
Working Conditions

This role requires working in an animal shelter environment with exposure to detergents, cleaning products, and seasonal outdoor conditions. Must be competent handling dogs and cats of all sizes, ages, and temperaments. Weekend work and occasional overtime required.
