SUMMARY


The Cybersecurity Specialist is responsible for providing hands-on technical support and management of a diverse array of security measures, tools, and technologies, including but not limited to firewalls, access control systems, proxies, and scanning tools.

This role collaborates with the information technology team and various departments within Hanmi Bank to avert, identify, and address security incidents, implement best practices, and oversee security tools and devices throughout the organization.

This position ensures accurate and timely monitoring and reporting of systems and potential threats related to the bank. This will be achieved through investigations, log reviews, user requests, email alert assessments, and more.

Ensures adherence to established Company policies and procedures.

Demonstrates knowledge of, compliance with, and accountability for adherence to state and federal regulations and laws relevant to this role, including but not limited to:

Regulation Z (Truth in Lending Act), Regulation B (Equal Credit Opportunity Act), Home Mortgage Disclosure Act, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Bank Secrecy Act in conjunction with the USA PATRIOT Act, Anti-Money Laundering and Customer Information Program, Right to Financial Privacy Act (state and federal), and Community Reinvestment Act.


RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Independently identifies issues and proactively troubleshoots problems, making informed decisions based on sound security principles.

  • Contributes to the development of the Bank's security initiatives into a premier program.
  • Advocates for effective security practices and exemplifies best practices.
  • Assists in assessing security solutions and provides recommendations to the Security Team.
  • Supports the implementation of an ongoing risk assessment program focusing on information security, cybersecurity, and privacy concerns; recommends methods for vulnerability detection and remediation and performs and/or supervises vulnerability testing.
  • Helps implement approved policies and procedures; ensures compliance with established policies and procedures and suggests modifications and enhancements.
  • Reviews security logs and email alerts for unusual and/or harmful activity.
  • Conducts daily administration of information security systems, including firewalls, spam filtering, and other perimeter security systems.
  • Prepares and maintains necessary reports and documentation.
  • Investigates user requests or system-generated alerts to ensure timely resolution of security issues.
  • Collaborates with other departments to address security concerns.
  • Conducts risk and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed information systems to identify weaknesses, risks, and protection needs.
  • Recognizes issues by identifying irregularities; reports violations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


These specifications serve as general guidelines based on the minimum experience typically deemed essential for satisfactory performance in this role.

Individual capabilities may lead to some variation from these guidelines.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from an accredited institution preferred; and 1-3 years of experience and/or training in information security or cybersecurity with a solid understanding of information security concepts, preferably within the financial services sector; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Educational experience through in-house training sessions, formal schooling, or information security-related curriculum should be applicable to the information security field.
  • Preferably holds one or more of the following certifications: CompTIA Security+, CEH, GSEC, CISSP
  • Experience with log aggregation tools such as Security Incident Event Management (SIEM) is advantageous.
  • Ability to multitask and make informed decisions.
  • Demonstrates strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Possesses interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with individuals at various levels and positions.
  • Basic skills in operating computer terminals and personal computers; familiarity with mainframe systems; proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Basic typing skills to meet the production needs of the position.
  • Basic mathematical skills; ability to calculate interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages; balance accounts; perform arithmetic operations in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; identify routine mathematical errors; compute rates, ratios, and percentages, including drafting and interpreting bar graphs.
  • Basic verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and instruct others, train personnel, write reports, correspondence, and procedures, and communicate clearly with customers and employees.
  • Ability to work independently while performing duties.
  • Valid driver's license and a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage if required to drive in the course of performing assigned duties and responsibilities.
Compensation ranges from $45,000 to $73,000 annually. The salary reflects the complete salary range for this position.

Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Successful candidates typically start from the beginning to mid-point of the salary range. Successful candidates may be eligible for [bonus/stock/commissions/incentives] at the Company's sole discretion.
