The Department of Health Care Access and Information is seeking a highly skilled Information Security Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Information Security Office, you will play a critical role in ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our sensitive information.
Key Responsibilities- Support the implementation and maintenance of security controls to protect against unauthorized access, use, disclosure, modification, or destruction of sensitive information.
- Collaborate with security analysts and technologists to identify and mitigate potential security risks and threats.
- Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with federal and state security regulations, including SAM Information Security Sections and NIST Security requirements.
- Provide technical expertise and support to departmental staff on security-related matters.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging security threats and technologies to ensure the department's security posture remains current and effective.
- Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment.
- Possession of a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as computer science, information assurance, or a related field.
- Relevant work experience in information security, cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of security frameworks, regulations, and standards, including NIST and SAM.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
