Position Overview

The Chief Educational Officer is responsible for steering and overseeing the strategic planning, execution, assessment, and enhancement of educational services for all learners within the community. This role involves the effective utilization of resources allocated by the educational department and the broader school community.

Additionally, as the executive representative of the school council, the Chief Educational Officer must ensure that the council receives adequate and relevant guidance on educational and ancillary matters, that the council's resolutions are enacted, and that sufficient support and resources are available for the smooth operation of council meetings.

Key Responsibilities

The Chief Educational Officer is accountable for the comprehensive management and growth of the school in alignment with state guidelines and governmental policies. A distinct set of responsibilities, which differentiates their role from other members of the educational service and community, is articulated in the employment contract.

The primary responsibilities of all Chief Educational Officers include:

ensuring the provision of a holistic educational program for all students serving as the executive representative of the school council. establishing and overseeing financial frameworks in compliance with departmental and council mandates. representing the educational department within the school and local community. executing the decisions made by the school council. contributing to system-wide initiatives, including policy formulation and strategic development. managing and integrating the resources available to the educational institution. actively engaging staff, students, and the community in the formulation, execution, and evaluation of school policies, programs, and operations. reporting to the educational department, school community, parents, and students regarding the accomplishments of the school and individual students as appropriate.

VIT LANTITE Requirement

To be eligible for employment, transfer, or promotion within the principal or teacher class, individuals must possess provisional or full registration from the relevant teaching authority. VAPA Requirement

To be eligible for appointment as a Chief Educational Officer, individuals must either currently hold the position or have met the relevant assessment requirements.
