Job Summary

The Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration is seeking an experienced and dynamic Physician (Primary Care) to serve as Section Chief in our Ambulatory Service. This is a supervisory/leadership position that will report directly to the Chief Medical Officer of Viera HCC, Ambulatory Care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, develop, implement, control, and refine a comprehensive patient management, clinical support, and administrative program.
  • Implement and lead Primary Care/PACT model transformation at Viera HCC and other sites as assigned.
  • Meet facility, VISN, and VHA strategic goals, including improved access to care and quality, improved efficiency, customer service excellence, self-care and self-management for Veterans, chronic illness management, prevention, and fostering Veteran health and well-being.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and day-to-day supervision of assigned Primary Care providers at the assigned site of care.
Requirements
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree from an accredited school of medicine.
  • Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
  • Completion of residency training in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
  • Proficient in spoken and written English.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of VA Primary Care experience within a PACT panel/setting.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
