Position Overview
The Dispensary Associate role focuses primarily on customer service and satisfaction rather than sales. As a representative of our organization, you play a crucial role in educating new customers about the diverse range of products we offer. It is essential to be knowledgeable and passionate about connecting customers with the right products to meet their recreational or wellness needs. Adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs) is vital to ensure a compliant retail environment, along with maintaining the overall cleanliness and aesthetic of the space. Awareness and ownership of your responsibilities are key to success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Process, organize, and package customer orders
- Ensure a tidy and organized retail environment
- Deliver outstanding service to both new and returning customers
- Utilize the point of sale system effectively
- Address customer inquiries with informative and patient responses
- Maintain a solid understanding of the products available in the store
- Follow established best practices for customer interaction and compliance
- Represent the organization positively to customers, employees, and the community
- Foster long-term relationships with customers to encourage referrals and repeat business
Compensation
$15 - $18 USD per hour
Required Qualifications
- At least 1 year of experience in a customer service role within retail or hospitality
- Must be at least 21 years old (or as mandated by state regulations)
- A minimum of a high school diploma is required
- Intermediate math skills
- Exceptional customer service abilities
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills in a calm and professional manner
- Proficient computer skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Personal experience with cannabis products
Preferred Qualifications
- Analytical skills for evaluating data and facts
- Proven experience managing a cash register accurately
- Experience in training new employees
- Prior experience as a key holder in a retail setting
- Knowledge of state cannabis regulations
- 5+ years of experience in retail
