Job Summary

Lone Star College is seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach Drafting and Electrical courses. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating engaging lessons, evaluating student progress, and maintaining professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.

This is a part-time position, with a maximum of five classes per academic year. The work schedule will vary depending on class time, and instructors are required to meet with classes at all scheduled times and be available to students outside of class instruction.

The ideal candidate will have a mastery of course content, demonstrated leadership skills, and excellent oral and written communication skills. They will also be able to appreciate alternative viewpoints and work effectively with a wide variety of people.

The successful candidate will be committed to academic excellence, exceptional service, and providing a dynamic climate for life-long learning.

Responsibilities

The Adjunct Faculty member will be responsible for:

  • Teaching Drafting and Electrical courses at a variety of times and locations
  • Creating engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of the material
  • Submitting required college reports and forms in a timely manner
  • Utilizing a course syllabus for each course, following established institutional guidelines
  • Maintaining professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community
  • Evaluating students to measure their progress in achieving course objectives and informing students in a timely manner of their progress
Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • An Associate's degree in engineering graphics, drafting technology, or computer-aided design and a minimum of 3 years of work experience in the field, or a Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, or architecture and a minimum of 3 years of work experience in the field
