Job Summary

The Senior Product Engineer plays a vital role as a core member of the new product development team. As a key contributor, you will work closely with design engineers, quality engineers, manufacturing partners, and suppliers throughout all phases of the product development lifecycle.

We are seeking an individual with a strong combination of program management skills and technical ability, complemented by leadership and communication skills to work collaboratively across the organization.

The product engineer will lead the product from concept through production, owning the overall development schedule and managing all aspects of the lifecycle from ingredients to integrated IMU/INS products.

You will work with internal team members and outside partners to develop, qualify, and successfully ramp the product in manufacturing.

Responsibilities
  1. Manage the development of new IMU/INS products through the product lifecycle, inclusive of internally developed ingredients and externally sourced components.
  2. Develop high-level roadmaps and micro-schedules with key tasks and resources defined and tracked for accurate estimation of product development timelines.
  3. Implement risk management methodologies to effectively mitigate key risks during project execution.
  4. Own the resolution of complex engineering and operational issues through multi-disciplinary collaboration and structured problem-solving methodologies.
  5. Implement and own change control for product specification and build standards / BOM.
  6. Collaborate with design team to strengthen DFX inputs and enable translation of product design inputs to product and process outputs.
  7. Create process flow charts, FMEAs, and control plans for new products.
  8. Develop and iterate product cost models, manage standard costs, and develop and implement a cost roadmap.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor's or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics, or other engineering field.
  2. 10+ years of industry-relevant work experience in microelectronic/optical product development from component to module level assemblies.
  3. Strong DFM knowledge, including both component and module manufacturing methods.
  4. Experience in both design development and manufacturing development.
  5. Experience in executing developmental builds and managing transition to production.
  6. Working knowledge of statistical process control, statistical analysis, and FMEA.
  7. Work experience within a regulated industry (e.g., automotive, aerospace, etc.).
  8. Experience identifying, selecting, and qualifying 3rd party vendors and contract manufacturers.
  9. Strong technical communication skills and proven ability to work with internal and external partners.
  10. Ability to work in a fast-paced and innovation-driven environment.

  1. Experience in autonomous navigation applications.
  2. Background in Inertial Measurement Units.
  3. Background in Silicon Photonics or other chip-based optical products.
  4. PMP certification.
  5. Self-motivated to learn new technologies and a passion for cross-functional interactions.
