Position Summary:
The Process Engineer is responsible for establishing, documenting, and maintaining effective injection molding processes through a systematic approach and the application of scientific molding techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and deliver processes for new injection molding tooling introductions.
• Support existing tooling with a focus on cost reduction and process capability enhancement.
• Provide daily production support to ensure optimal operation.
Essential Duties:
• Apply scientific molding principles and Design of Experiments (DOEs) to create robust molding processes based on a standardized, data-driven methodology.
• Maintain comprehensive process documentation and records to ensure production accuracy.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including tooling, quality, maintenance, and production, to identify and resolve issues using root cause analysis.
• Assist the quality team with corrective actions as needed.
• Mentor fellow process engineers and technicians by sharing knowledge and fostering a respectful challenge process.
• Stay informed about industry advancements and propose new technologies that can add value to the organization.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with relevant experience.
• Familiarity with injection molding, particularly in high precision and tight tolerance environments, is advantageous.
• Proven ability to implement controlled molding processes in a manufacturing setting.
• Experience with lot number traceability, engineering-grade resins, and specification-driven processes.
• Proficient in interpreting results from molding simulation software, preferably Moldex3D.
• Knowledge of in-plant injection molding auxiliary equipment, including robots, sprue pickers, and temperature control systems.
• Practical understanding of Statistical Analysis and Design of Experiments is preferred.
• Strong collaborative skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
