Tooling Technician

The Tooling Technician - Injection Molding Specialist is responsible for performing maintenance, change overs, and occasional repairs to injection molding tools. This role requires a strong understanding of the injection molding process and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform injection mold preventative maintenance and insert changes to support production.
- Maintain accurate logs of preventative maintenance and insert changes.
- Identify tooling deficiencies during preventative maintenance and notify the Tooling Lead.
- Participate in root-cause analysis of tooling breakage and/or damage to assess corrective actions.
- Ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Lead the creation, organization, and maintenance of TPIs, including work instructions, photo-documentation, historical logging, and revision control.
- Participate in and lead tool room organization, including mold spare components, standard components, and equipment.
- Identify and elevate tools, equipment, and infrastructure needs to the Tooling Lead.
- Provide support to production operations as needed or directed by the supervisor.
Requirements:
- High school education or GED.
- At least 2 years of related experience in tooling/manufacturing environment.
- Experience with injection mold maintenance and repairs.
- Solid understanding of the injection molding process.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent interpersonal relations and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with limited direct supervision.
- Ability to work with quickly changing priorities and short deadlines.
- Ability to successfully communicate with internal and external customers.
