We are seeking a highly skilled Process Technician to join our team at Pro-Tech Staffing Services. As a Process Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and efficiency of our manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities- Perform quality checks on the first part and ensure adherence to production schedules.
- Set up and operate plastic injection molding presses, following processing specifications.
- Prepare and install molds/tools for new production runs, manage resin drying, and adjust machine parameters as necessary.
- Participate in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Possess extensive knowledge and experience in processing engineering-grade resins.
- Perform basic TPM on tools/molds as needed.
- Switch colors and materials following the mold change schedule.
- Follow and enforce quality control procedures to maintain product standards and certifications.
- Ensure production and on-time delivery by following schedules and addressing any delays promptly.
- Contribute to root-cause analysis of tooling breakage or damage and recommend corrective actions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems that arise during the injection molding process.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and promote a culture of safety within the plastic injection molding area.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Preferred but not always necessary. A degree in fields such as Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline can be advantageous.
- 1-5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably in a role related to process technology or a similar field.
- Understanding of Manufacturing Processes: Knowledge of molding processes, machine operations, and production workflows specific to the automotive industry.
- Familiarity with Process Control Systems: Ability to work with systems that monitor and control manufacturing processes, such as SCADA, PLCs, or similar technologies.
- Troubleshooting Skills: Strong skills in diagnosing and resolving technical issues with machinery and processes, particularly those related to injection molding or other plastics processes.
- Quality Assurance: Understanding of quality control principles and practices to ensure product standards are met.
- Certified Manufacturing Technician (CMT): A certification that validates a candidate's knowledge of manufacturing processes and standards.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Lean Manufacturing Certification: Preferred for candidates involved in process optimization and continuous improvement.
- Injection Molding Certification: Certifications from organizations such as RJG or Paulson Training Programs can demonstrate proficiency in molding processes.
- Proficiency in CAD Software: Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics using CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
- Familiarity with Manufacturing Software: Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) or manufacturing execution systems (MES).
- Basic Office Software Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for documentation and reporting
- Experience in leading small teams or projects, including coordination of tasks and delegation of responsibilities.
- Ability to train and mentor junior technicians or apprentices
- Ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for creating reports, documentation, and presentations.
