Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanic Leader to join our team at the U.S. Pacific Fleet, Commander in Chief. As a key member of our Pipe Shop, Code 960, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of our air conditioning equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze job orders, plans, and specifications to determine work requirements and priorities.
  • Assist the supervisor in assigning work to subordinates, taking into account established schedules, priority work, capabilities, and workload distribution.
  • Conduct regular checks on work in progress and completed work to ensure adherence to supervisor's instructions on work sequence, procedures, methods, and deadlines.
  • Provide on-the-job training and guidance to new employees to ensure they possess the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Ensure that adequate tools, materials, and equipment are available, properly used, stored, and maintained to support the efficient operation of air conditioning equipment.
  • Perform non-supervisory work of the same type performed by subordinates to maintain a hands-on understanding of the work and to lead by example.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess a strong background in air conditioning equipment maintenance and a proven ability to lead and supervise a team. You should have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must demonstrate through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.
