Job Title: Registered Nurse PreOp PACU PT

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Part-Time PreOp PACU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team at St. Mary's Ambulatory Surgery Center. As a PreOp PACU RN, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the comfort, safety, and well-being of our patients before and after surgery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Primary focus on PACU, assessing, instructing, and preparing patients prior to surgery.
  • Administer medications and IV therapy as needed, monitoring and managing patients' vital signs and overall condition in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU).
  • Provide post-operative care and support, including pain management and patient education.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, adhering to all safety and infection control protocols.
Requirements:
  • Must be a Registered Nurse with an unrestricted license in VA.
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a PreOp and/or postoperative setting, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center.
  • Must have current BLS certification, ACLS certification is ideal.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, commitment to patient-centered care and continuous improvement.
