Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Part-Time PreOp PACU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team at St. Mary's Ambulatory Surgery Center. As a PreOp PACU RN, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the comfort, safety, and well-being of our patients before and after surgery.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Primary focus on PACU
  • Assess, instruct, and prepare patients prior to surgery
  • Administer medications and IV therapy as needed
  • Monitor and manage patients' vital signs and overall condition in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
  • Provide post-operative care and support, including pain management and patient education
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
  • Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols
Requirements:
  • Must be a Registered Nurse with an unrestricted license in VA
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a PreOp and/or postoperative setting, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center
  • Must have current BLS certification, ACLS certification is ideal
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous improvement
