Job Title: Human Resources Specialist

ProspectBlue is seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Specialist to join their team in Manakin Sabot, VA. As a key member of the HR team, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, maintaining employee records, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process multi-state biweekly payroll in the Paychex system and maintain accurate team member payroll records.
  • Monitor and audit payroll submissions to ensure compliance with company policy and state/federal regulations.
  • Coordinate and ensure new hire data and team member changes are successfully transmitted to various benefit portals and platforms.
  • Ensure accurate and timely 401(k) funding and reporting, and assist with annual 401(k) audits.
  • Set up and maintain team member payroll deductions related to garnishments or levies.
  • Maintain team member electronic personnel files/records and payroll supporting documentation.
  • Perform periodic audits of payroll data to ensure accurate FLSA classification of employees and benefit eligibility.
  • Review and verify I9's for new and rehired team members.
  • Monitor Payroll email box to ensure proper resolutions are implemented and requests are processed in a timely manner.
  • Provide weekly training to new hires, managers, and existing team members on desktop and/or Paychex mobile app.
  • Prepare biweekly and ad hoc reports relating to payroll as required.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Business or another related field.
  • Professional appearance, attendance, and punctuality is required.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information in a professional manner.
  • Ability to work both independently and with other team members.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word & Excel and Adobe Acrobat products.
  • Familiarity with Paychex FLEX preferred.
