Job Summary

Northwell Health is seeking a skilled Health Equity Initiatives Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in the development, implementation, and evaluation of diversity and health equity initiatives across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of diversity and health equity initiatives.
  • Serve as a liaison to system-wide departments requiring educational tools.
  • Collaborate with management to create a vision and plan for health literacy activities throughout the organization.
  • Administer and analyze readability pre- and post-tests, making recommendations based on findings.
  • Provide stakeholders with necessary documentation and information, exploring additional programs and training.
  • Monitor inventory of patient education materials.
  • Provide periodic updates, reports, and recommendations to management regarding health literacy services.
  • Provide resources and educate staff on health literacy to deliver services that align with internal and government regulations.
  • Conduct meetings, disseminate information, collect data, write reports, and seek expansion of diversity and health equity initiatives.
  • Coordinate and participate in performance improvement projects, including writing grants, coordinating research projects, and developing Center for Equity of Care documents.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience required.

Additional Information
