Job Title: Behavioral Health Nursing Director

Boston Children's Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Behavioral Health Nursing Director to lead our Behavioral Health programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing 24-hour supervision of patient care operations, planning and organizing daily clinical services and administrative operations, and ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 24-hour supervision of patient care operations for our Waltham behavioral health programs.
  • Plan, organize, and oversee daily clinical services and administrative operations.
  • Ensure continuous compliance with all regulatory bodies, including The Joint Commission, CMS, the Department of Mental Health (DMH), and Department of Early Education and Care (EEC).
  • Develop and ensure compliance with nursing policies and procedures, standards of patient care, and nursing practice.
  • Develop, recommend, and implement internal standards, policies, and procedures to improve quality and cost-effectiveness of patient care.
  • Play an integral role in developing and implementing strategies to create cultural change necessary to fully realize our vision of participation in Behavioral Health and the continuum of care.
  • Lead and participate in hospital, departmental, and multidisciplinary programs, committees, and special projects.
  • Lead individuals and work groups to continuously improve performance by creating an environment that ensures application of quality principles and techniques to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Request and allocate resources and facilitate coordination of care/services to meet patient care and operations requirements.
  • Select, supervise, and evaluate nursing and clinical support staff.
  • Develop and provide staff education/development programs.
  • Create an environment that fosters excellence, sensitivity, and leadership.
  • Provide leadership for the development of and/or participation in studies, research, publications, and public presentations.
Requirements:
  • Licensed in MA as a registered nurse.
  • 10+ years of RN experience with at least 5 years of progressive management/leadership experience.
  • Behavioral Health experience required, pediatric experience preferred.
  • MSN required, Doctoral degree in nursing or a closely related field preferred.
  • Certification in Psychiatric - Mental Health Nursing (RN-BC) and nursing leadership certification (NE-BC/NEA-BC) is strongly preferred.
