The Salvation Army Central Territory Headquarters is seeking a committed individual to join their Trade Central Department as a Financial Operations Supervisor. Position Overview:

Oversee daily financial functions, including invoicing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and point of sale operations, in accordance with The Salvation Army's established policies. This role reports directly to the Trade Central Business Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct daily accounting operations and ensure backup procedures for essential tasks
  • Execute daily POS and sales routines, providing results to management
  • Track credit card transactions, payment discrepancies, refunds, returns, and miscellaneous charges
  • Reconcile departmental accounts monthly and generate reports for management review
  • Maintain and update the general ledger and sales journals at the conclusion of each month
  • Ensure timely scanning and filing of financial documents while maintaining an organized filing system
  • Assist with customer inquiries, manage customer accounts, and follow up on overdue payments
  • Support vendors with inquiries regarding payment status and resolve issues with received products

Offsite Responsibilities:

Assist with the packing and unpacking of merchandise for off-site events and actively engage in these events.

Travel to off-site events, prepare, manage inventory, and pack up the off-site store.

Additional Duties:

Contribute to year-end inventory processes.

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business Administration, or equivalent relevant experience.

Experience Requirements:

A minimum of 4 years in a comparable financial role, preferably within the non-profit sector.

Experience in financial reporting analysis is advantageous.

OR: A combination of training and experience that provides the necessary skills and knowledge.

Required Skills:

Proficiency in computer operations, particularly with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and accounting software. Familiarity with Acumatica is a plus.

Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Oversee the Billing Specialist/Store Clerk and Accounts Receivable/Inventory Specialist.

Travel Requirements:

Occasional travel may be necessary, and a valid driver's license is required.

Physical Demands:

This role involves lifting, pushing, and pulling materials up to 40 pounds, as well as bending, squatting, and walking. Good manual dexterity and the ability to stand for extended periods are essential.
