Job Summary

As a Supervisory General Engineer with the U.S. Marine Corps, you will serve as a key member of the Facilities, Capital Investments Section. Your primary responsibility will be to provide technical guidance and oversight to the Division Director and other staff members in the review, coordination, evaluation, and development of policies, plans, programs, and procedures governing Marine Corps programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, review, and coordinate all construction, programming, and budgeting issues for all phases of the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution System (PPBES).
  • Provide direction and guidance on all facilities policies and programs, ensuring alignment with overall Marine Corps goals and policies.
  • Serve as an engineering consultant to the Director for Military Construction Programming on construction matters relating to the annual MILCON program.
  • Brief members of professional staff of the House and Senate Armed Services and Appropriations Committees and provide backup information, as required.
  • Supervise, provide technical and administrative direction, coordinate workload, and evaluate the performance of the Military Construction Section Staff.
Requirements

To be eligible for this position, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Your resume must demonstrate the following:

  • Negotiating and building consensuses with internal/external stakeholders on planning/programming/budgeting/execution or other capital investment matters.
  • Developing performance appraisals, reviewing work, setting schedules, directing subordinates, and mentoring employees.
  • Planning/implementing organizational structure to most effectively manage a capital investment program to meet mission requirements.

Applicants must also meet the positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management, which include having successfully completed a bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, or having a combination of college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering.
