Job Title: Technical Integration Graduate Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Technical Integration Graduate Assistant to join our team at the Georgia Tech Research Institute. As a Technical Integration Graduate Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects related to unmanned systems, sensors, and other prototype systems.

Job Summary:

The Advanced Warfighting Technologies Division (AWTD) in the Advanced Concepts Laboratory (ACL) is seeking a qualified candidate to support the development, fabrication, and assessment of unmanned systems, sensors, and other prototype systems. The successful candidate will have strong technical skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the development, fabrication, and assessment of unmanned systems, sensors, and other prototype systems
  • Collaborate with a team of engineers and researchers to design and develop prototype systems
  • Conduct technical research and analysis to support the development of new technologies
  • Develop and maintain technical reports and documentation
  • Provide technical support to the team and stakeholders
Requirements:
  • Pursuing a Master's degree or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Must be enrolled part-time (1+ credit hours) during working semesters
  • Must have a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA
  • Commit to up to 40 hours of work per week
  • Experience designing and developing prototypes
  • Experience with mechanical design using Solidworks and other tools
  • Proficiency related to the development and publication of technical reports
  • Strong technical, analytical, technical writing, and briefing skills
  • Experience with modeling and simulation tools
  • Knowledge and experience in system design and development of unmanned systems
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Candidate must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced team environment
  • Analyze data using either Matlab or Python programming languages in order to perform data analysis
  • Enthusiastic about learning about new technologies and assessing ways for them to be used in operational environments for the warfighter
  • Candidates should have experience working with federal government (either as military, civilian, or contractor)
  • Experience in the development of unmanned systems
  • Previous or active DoD clearance
  • Ability to rapidly develop scripts and process data
  • Software development on embedded systems
  • Previous engineering design experience including but not limited to electrical hardware, mechanical design
  • Preference for candidates that can perform cross-discipline to work with integrated and embedded systems
  • Previous job, team, or military experience preferred
Clearance:

Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain an active security clearance.
