Position Overview


The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for conducting and advising on professional, scientific, or technical tasks associated with engineering or architectural initiatives, including facilities, structures, systems, processes, equipment, devices, materials, or methodologies.

As a proficient Engineer, the individual engages in various mechanical systems and subsystems within buildings, showcasing expertise and innovation in devising solutions related to heating, ventilation, air conditioning, controls, plumbing, and utility systems.

In a specialized capacity, the Engineer offers sound technical advice and guidance to management, colleagues, and stakeholders regarding specific technical and constructability elements pertinent to mechanical systems.

When faced with contentious solutions, the Engineer is expected to provide technical justification and support for their proposals and ideas.


Additionally, the Engineer may take on the role of Project Leader or Project Manager for small to medium-sized projects, leading a team to tackle complex technical challenges that may be contentious.

The Engineer formulates strategies utilizing knowledge from related projects to address a range of unique technological issues. This role often serves as the primary liaison with contractors, management, and stakeholders for specific initiatives.

The Engineer is responsible for developing plans and delivering both written and oral presentations to various interested parties regarding program status, technical challenges, scheduling, and financial considerations.

Assignments may encompass significant components of large-scale projects or entire medium-scale projects. The scope of work is such that it may involve multiple phases of the development process.

The Engineer is expected to undertake tasks that may lack precedent and provide leadership in resolving major technical and administrative challenges.

The Engineer possesses extensive specialized training or experience in their area of expertise.

This role requires versatility and creativity in adapting, modifying, or making compromises to meet project requirements that involve a combination of complex features.

The Engineer may also be called upon to offer training and/or mentorship to other team members.
