Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to support UCLA Extension students and programs, with a focus on major gifts and corporate partnerships.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including alumni, donors, and corporate partners, to advance the university's mission and goals.
- Collaborate with the dean and other university leaders to identify and pursue new opportunities for growth and development.
- Manage a team of professional fundraisers and volunteers to achieve fundraising goals and objectives.
- Develop and implement effective communication strategies to engage stakeholders and promote the university's mission and programs.
- Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in fundraising, external relations, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in soliciting major gifts and/or prior experience with solicitations of a similar nature, level, and complexity.
- Expert knowledge of principles and practices of major gift fundraising in a major research university or institution of equivalent complexity.
- Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and implement a comprehensive development or similar program of comparable size and complexity.
- Appropriate management and administrative skills needed to organize, direct, motivate, and evaluate other professionals and volunteers.
- Excellent communication skills to express, both orally and in writing, the mission of the university and the fundraising goals of the campus.
- Effective verbal communication skills to make persuasive oral presentations to senior management and internal and external constituencies.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to interact effectively with academic leaders, faculty, staff, donors, and volunteers.
- Strong strategic thinking skills aligned with the ability to implement and follow through.
- Steadfast commitment to work of impeccable integrity with strong analytical and organizational skills to develop creative, credible solutions, recommendations, and programs.
- Bachelor's degree in a related area.
- Ability to work evenings and/or weekends as needed.
- Some travel required.
