Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at the State of Virginia. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing direct patient care in clinics and patient homes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer medications and immunizations to patients, under the supervision of a RN or Physician.
  • Interview patients to gather medical histories, counsel patients, teach, instruct, and obtain lab specimens.
  • Perform routine laboratory work, take vital signs, and refer abnormal findings to a physician.
  • Prepare patients for physical examinations and assist physicians during examinations.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of nursing techniques, public health practices, quality assurance concepts, teaching principles, and decision-making techniques.
  • Skills in performing technical procedures, communication, and interacting with clients and the general public.
  • Ability to document clearly and accurately, establish and maintain working relationships, and function as a team member.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Experience in phlebotomy and laboratory procedures.
  • Bilingual.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent interruptions and changing priorities. The successful candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
