Key Responsibilities:

In accordance with established protocols, the Practical Nursing Specialist will:

  • Administer oral, intramuscular, and subcutaneous medications and immunizations, following completion of the necessary training and under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Physician.
  • Conduct patient interviews to gather medical histories, provide counseling, and deliver education and instruction.
  • Collect laboratory specimens and perform routine lab tasks, monitor vital signs, and report any irregular findings to the physician.
  • Prepare patients for physical examinations and assist the physician during these assessments.

Qualifications:

Licensure as a Practical Nurse is required by state regulations. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of nursing techniques, public health practices, quality assurance principles, and effective communication strategies.
  • Proficiency in technical procedures and the ability to interact positively with clients and the community.
  • Strong documentation skills, ensuring clarity and accuracy in patient records.
  • Capability to foster collaborative relationships with individuals and families, contributing effectively as a team member.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current CPR certification.
  • Experience in phlebotomy and laboratory procedures.
  • Prior experience in a public health or medical office environment.
  • Bilingual skills.
