Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Nursing Specialist for our esteemed practice. Key Responsibilities

  • Administer general nursing care to pediatric patients, including immunizations, allergy shots, and antibiotics, under the supervision of healthcare providers.
  • Maintain and update patient medical records in accordance with practice protocols, ensuring all information is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Participate in team meetings with healthcare providers to discuss daily appointments and resource needs.
  • Welcome patients and prepare them for examinations, gathering necessary information and vital statistics.
  • Assist healthcare providers during examinations and treatments, ensuring all equipment is ready and available.
  • Monitor and document patients' conditions, reporting any adverse reactions to medications or treatments.
  • Coordinate patient referrals to specialists and arrange for necessary tests or hospital admissions.
  • Provide educational resources and information to patients and their families, both in person and via telephone.
  • Uphold patient confidentiality regarding medical and financial information, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations.
  • Ensure clinical areas are stocked with necessary supplies and equipment, maintaining a clean and organized environment.
Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a pediatric healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Valid Nursing License in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Current CPR certification is required.

  • Proficient in the use of medical equipment and instruments for patient care.
  • Knowledgeable in maintaining a safe and effective work environment.
  • Ability to apply nursing principles and techniques to provide high-quality patient care.
