The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing high-quality patient care in the Emergency Department. This role requires a competent level of nursing care, as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, and health promotion, and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing.
Responsibilities- Assess and admit patients, perform rounding checks, administer medications, and communicate with family members.
- Provide comprehensive care to patients, including respiratory, cardiac, septic, and behavioral health.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
- Registered Nurse (RN) License - Compact/Multi-State License or Registered Nurse (RN) License - Single State License - Virginia.
- RN-Associate's Degree, RN-Bachelor's Degree, RN-Diploma, RN-Master's Degree, or RN-Doctorate Degree.
- 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience preferred.
