Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nursing Assistant I to join our team at UNC Health. As a Nursing Assistant I, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Responsibilities
  • Provide basic nursing skills, personal care activities, and other tasks as delegated by and under the supervision of the RN/LPN.
  • Measure vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, etc.
  • Provide personal care, such as bathing, mouth care, skin care, hair care, nail care, bed making, and dressing/undressing.
  • Assist with nutritional needs of patients by preparing them for meal time and feeding them when needed.
  • Assist patients with elimination needs through tasks such as using a bedpan/urinal, bowel/bladder training, collecting specimens, and perineal/catheter care.
  • Measure height and weight.
  • Measure and record intake and output.
Requirements
  • Completion of state-approved Level I Nurse Aide training and competency evaluation program or its equivalent.
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Current listing on the North Carolina Nurse Aide I registry.
  • Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least one year of experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Ability to provide excellent patient and customer care to all patients and their visitors as well as internal and external teammates.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and communicate effectively.
  • Able to learn new software rapidly. Knowledge of Epic/EMR is helpful.
Work Environment

This is a full-time position with a standard schedule of 36 hours per week. The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with a focus on providing high-quality patient care.

This position is exempt from overtime.
