Job Overview

Feed My Starving Children is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Program Coordinator to facilitate impactful and productive volunteer experiences. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our packing sessions, promoting our mission, and providing exceptional hospitality to our volunteers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead groups in packing Feed My Starving Children food, ensuring food and personnel safety compliance.
  • Ask volunteers to donate and share how their contributions can make a difference in feeding kids.
  • Promote campaigns, events, and MarketPlace items based on each volunteer's interests.
  • Orchestrate packing sessions, anticipating needs and troubleshooting problems.
  • Clean and set up supplies in preparation for volunteers.
  • Give opening and closing presentations, directing volunteers on how to safely pack food and handle supplies.
  • Monitor time, manage transitions, and track production.
  • Lead a Christian prayer over packaged food and invite volunteers to join.
  • Clean, label inventory, palletize boxes, and store pallets using a pallet jack.
  • Maintain a clean and food-safe facility, performing laundry and cleaning tasks.
  • Uphold food safety, food quality, volunteer safety, and personnel safety policies and procedures.
  • Assist with site initiatives and special projects in an assigned focus area.
Requirements
  • Passionate about FMSC's Christian mission and living it out in the workplace.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Able to exert physically for a 4-8 hour shift, walk, stand, push, pull, lift 30-50 lbs, bend, twist, and use hand tools.
  • Thrives in a team setting, able to pitch in, fill in gaps, remain flexible, ask for help, and share responsibilities.
  • Enthusiastic, assertive, and confident when sharing information with groups and individuals.
  • Focused on hospitality, recognizing and meeting volunteer needs, building rapport, and maintaining relationships.
  • Able to identify and solve problems, using good judgment and discretion.
  • Respect and value FMSC's volunteers and supporters, varying in beliefs, backgrounds, and abilities.
