About the Role:We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the SANE/SATC Program. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating patient care activities, workflow, and navigation of forensic patients. You will also demonstrate clinical competence in the collection of forensic evidence, care, treatment, and referral of those impacted by interpersonal violence.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct forensic examinations of patients, cataloging evidence of physical or sexual abuse for use in court cases or police proceedings.
- Conduct forensic interviews with patients, asking about incidents of abuse.
- Collect specimens and DNA samples, take photographs of bruises and other injuries, and conduct detailed physical and genital examinations based on patient preference.
- Provide guidance and support to patients throughout any required treatments.
- Coordinate resources to efficiently support procedures, day-to-day operations, and the smooth flow of patients through the department.
- Provide support for direct patient care by performing the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic, and quality care.
- Act as a resource to employees, providing training, day-to-day work direction, and input on performance.
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which you practice.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
- Typically requires 5 years of experience in clinical nursing within an acute care setting.
