Job Summary

The Physical Therapist (PT) plays a vital role in providing high-quality, patient-centered care by managing the complete process of therapeutic care for an assigned group of patients in coordination with the physician and the patient care team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide evaluations and treatment interventions within the scope of practice established by law and professional code of ethics.
  • Assess and evaluate therapeutic/rehabilitative/functional status and participate in the development of the total plan of care.
  • Provide purposeful and skilled therapeutic care at patients home, using procedures and techniques to produce a change in condition/function consistent with the physicians plan of care.
  • Instruct patient/family/caregiver in the use of therapies, exercises, therapeutic appliances, and/or prosthetic devices to be used outside of therapy sessions.
  • Prioritize caseload, determine daily staffing needs and coordinate assignments/handoffs.
Requirements
  • Experience: Previous Physical Therapy experience
  • Education: Bachelor of Science, Masters of Science Degree in Physical Therapy, or Doctorate in Physical Therapy
  • Licenses and Certifications: Licensed by the Texas State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners, Basic Life Support (BLS) required as per St. Davids Healthcare policy
