This distinctive position will primarily concentrate on Global Marine and Surface Transportation Logistics, offering the chance to collaborate across the broader Commercial business value chain, which includes Global Trading, US Scheduling, Global Market Analysis, Midstream Commercial (NGL), Risk and Compliance, Commercial F&PA, and Accounting Operations.

The Commercial IT Analytics Specialist will facilitate advanced data analysis and visualization within the Commercial business unit through the execution of IT projects, ongoing digital transformation, and overall business support. This role will report to the Director of IT Commercial Applications and will be recognized as a technical resource focused on designing and developing data models, visualizations, and reporting functionalities. The position will involve collaboration with business experts, architects, IT business analysts, and data analysts, utilizing a blend of business strategy and technical data expertise to convert complex information into analytical solutions for business users. Additionally, the role will engage in change management, support, and data security of data solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize knowledge of data analysis principles and methodologies to construct effective, precise, and succinct models that convey the insights and significance of a dataset.
  • Demonstrate data modeling and aggregation capabilities to produce accurate models and communicate effectively through visual representations.
  • Effectively visualize data and select appropriate charts and visualizations to represent key performance indicators.
  • Engage with data engineers, analysts, clients, and executives through both verbal communication and visual representations, ensuring that all team members share the same information and understanding to achieve consistent and effective outcomes.
  • Develop end-to-end solutions to address high-value business requirements sustainably.
  • Create a dev-ops pipeline and possess experience in agile methodologies.
  • Establish, monitor, and implement governance, standards, and practices to enable Phillips 66 to maintain secure, sustainable, and reliable reporting and analytics.
Required Qualifications:
  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 3 or more years of IT or analytics-related experience.
  • 3 or more years of experience working with cloud-based platforms in an enterprise environment.
  • 2 or more years of experience in building data models on SAP modules (Finance, Sales & Distribution, and Materials Management).
  • Experience in designing and constructing data models utilizing the Azure data platform (Azure Synapse, Databricks, Delta Lake).
  • Proficient in designing dashboards and reports in Power BI, SAP Analytics Cloud, or Tableau.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with SQL or Python programming languages.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing techniques.
  • Experience in cloud data platforms such as Databricks, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, and Power BI.
  • Cloud certifications (Power BI, Tableau, Azure Data Engineer, or SAP Analytics Cloud certification).
  • Significant and relevant Oil & Gas or technical industry experience, particularly in commercial and/or logistics.
  • Functional knowledge in Truck, Rail, and Marine modes of transportation.
  • Functional knowledge of SAP S/4 HANA, preferably MM/SD related to IS-Oil, with a focus on the oil & gas industry.
  • Strong understanding of the deals-to-dollars oil & gas business processes.
  • Strong understanding of commercial spot, term, and evergreen contracts for physical oil & gas commodities.
  • Functional understanding of third-party commercial system integrations into SAP S/4 HANA.
  • Process mapping skills.
  • Experience with pipeline, build/release, and CI/CD deployment of data pipelines (Azure DevOps, Git).
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences, adjusting style to fit the target audience, including multiple levels of management.
