Position Overview:
The Retail Sales Representative plays a crucial role in enhancing sales and distribution of our products along designated routes. This position involves supporting marketing, merchandising, and delivery initiatives to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets. Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers while ensuring product quality at retail locations is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive retail performance through the execution of established sales and marketing strategies.
- Foster strong relationships with customers and delivery staff.
- Address customer inquiries and needs promptly.
- Optimize retail execution within assigned accounts by adhering to retail account standards.
- Elevate consumer awareness of our brands through proactive shelf management, including securing additional shelf space and optimizing product placement.
- Ensure the quality of all company products, guaranteeing only fresh and undamaged items are available for sale.
- Utilize ordering systems efficiently to maintain proper inventory levels and prevent stockouts.
- Advocate for permanent point-of-sale placements within the designated route.
- Stay informed about competitive signage placements.
- Complete administrative tasks promptly and in accordance with company policies.
Essential Skills and Competencies:
- Ability to read and interpret various documents, including safety rules and operational manuals.
- Proficient in writing routine reports and correspondence.
- Effective communication skills, capable of presenting information to customers and colleagues.
- Strong mathematical skills for calculations involving rates, ratios, and percentages.
- Problem-solving abilities to navigate diverse situations with limited standardization.
- Capacity to understand and comply with state regulations regarding the sale of alcoholic beverages.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid state motor vehicle license.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to use hands for handling and to perform physical activities such as stooping, kneeling, and reaching.
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, and climb.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
