Position Overview

Summary
The Burlington Children's Space is on the lookout for a dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our collaborative teaching team in a looping classroom setting, catering to infants, toddlers, or preschool-aged children.

Qualifications
A Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or Human Development is essential, while a State License in Early Childhood Education is advantageous but not mandatory.

About Us
The Burlington Children's Space operates within the McClure Multi-Generational Center, providing an economically and culturally diverse NAEYC accredited program for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years.

Our programming draws inspiration from the Reggio Emilia approach, focusing on the interests and curiosities of the children, as well as the unique cultural resources of our community.

We are committed to inclusivity, with tuition based on a sliding scale to serve all families.

Teacher Responsibilities
Our educators are a passionate and enthusiastic group, with opportunities for field trips to various local attractions. Funding for these excursions comes from classroom-specific resources.

In the classroom, teachers have the autonomy to design their environment and develop a curriculum that aligns with the children's interests and their own professional passions.

The creative output of our classrooms is evident, with walls adorned with self-portraits, vibrant canvases, and various art projects.

Key Responsibilities
This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week. Co-teachers will plan and implement curriculum tailored to the developmental needs and interests of the children.

Teachers will utilize Teaching Strategies Gold for assessments, collaborating closely with Head Start staff.

Classroom teams will meet weekly for planning and monthly to create individualized care plans in conjunction with the Howard Center and other service providers.

All classrooms will engage in parent involvement activities, including family dinners, open houses, and curriculum nights, fostering family engagement in the educational process.

Requirements
A Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or Human Development is required. A State License in Early Childhood Education is preferred but not essential.

Preferred Qualifications
We seek an educator with experience and a strong interest in working within a therapeutic child care environment, with program supports such as reflective consultation and care planning.
