Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine laboratory assignments of moderate complexity and scope under minimal supervision.
  • Technical lead on low complexity, short-term projects.
  • Lead portions of larger projects as a team member.
  • Actively train co-workers in the proper methods of performing work assignments.
  • Make adaptations and modifications of experimental procedures where needed.
  • Identify and understand laboratory or testing problems and issues from internal and external customer's perspective and seek to find feasible and effective solutions.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 7 years' work experience if no bachelor's degree.
  • 0 years' work experience if relevant bachelor's degree.
  • Relevant bachelor's degrees include chemistry, material science, or engineering.
  • Strong safety awareness in a chemical lab environment and adherence to the company's quality and ethics standards.
  • Possess strong attention to detail.
  • Possess adequate visual acuity to read and understand chemical container labels and to safely work in a chemical laboratory with hazardous chemicals.
  • Possess solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to apply basic statistics and interpret and communicate results.
  • Ability to utilize computerized equipment and computer software packages including but not limited to Microsoft Excel, Word, and SAP.

Technical Knowledge:

  • Intermediate understanding and application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the field.
  • Beginning to learn other related disciplines.
  • General knowledge of other related disciplines.
  • Intermediate knowledge of key products and/or industry knowledge - customer application, failure analysis.

Impact:

  • Technical lead on low complexity, short-term projects.
  • Leads portions of larger projects as a team member.
  • Failure to achieve goals can normally be overcome without serious effect to the team.

Working Conditions:

  • Minimal travel expected.
