Senior Estimator Job Description

The Senior Estimator will play a crucial role in supporting and collaborating with preconstruction/BD staff in the review of project plans, requirements, and specifications. This individual will also have the opportunity to organize a team of estimators to perform pricing and bidding of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with clients to ensure a thorough understanding of project scope and vision
  • Prepare comprehensive general conditions estimates and analysis
  • Develop construction cost estimates with quantity take-offs and unit pricing
  • Prepare scope documents per trade, including project-specific information
  • Oversee the initiation of each turn-key project, including permit submission and design evaluations
  • Review project proposals, drawings, and plans to determine time frames, funding limitations, and procedures for accomplishing projects
  • Collaborate with architects and construction crews to ensure feasibility of each project
  • Conduct on-site meetings with architects, clients, and construction crews
  • Negotiate with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors
  • Prepare and submit project estimates to clients

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of estimating experience
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management or a related field
  • Significant and diverse project experience with a commercial focus
  • Ability to manage projects from conception to completion
  • Experience estimating projects up to $10 million
  • Effective communication skills
  • Working knowledge of commercial construction technology and details
  • Strong personal drive to take on challenges and grow professionally
