The Service Coordinator plays a crucial role in gathering essential information from clients and agencies seeking assistance, orchestrating various service types, and scheduling requests to align with resource availability. Key Responsibilities
- Respond to customer service inquiries regarding service requests.
- Record and update both emergency and non-emergency call information.
- Serve as a resource for healthcare facilities and other organizations utilizing the services of NATIONAL HEALTH TRANSPORT, INC.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of company policies, procedures, and medical protocols.
- Exhibit thorough knowledge of all Communication Center equipment, including telephones, radios, and computer systems.
- Engage with various healthcare facilities, dispatch centers, insurance providers, and managed care organizations.
- Act as a liaison for customers with agencies and other departments, contributing to customer education and outreach efforts.
- Investigate and respond to customer inquiries effectively.
- Secure insurance or managed care authorizations as needed.
- Communicate and document any service delays appropriately.
- Collaborate with customers and ancillary providers to fulfill service demands.
- Assess medical necessity for ambulance services.
- Maintain a composed and professional atmosphere within the Communication Center.
- Adapt to changes in the work environment, managing competing priorities and adjusting methods as necessary.
- Stay informed about customer contracts and agreements.
- Assist responding units with navigation instructions to service locations when required, utilizing all available mapping resources.
- Participate in scheduled meetings and training sessions.
- Carry out assigned clerical and billing duties.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
- Execute all responsibilities with the highest level of professionalism, reliability, and integrity.
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
- Proficient in computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Word and Excel).
- Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute.
- Knowledge of local geography.
- Understanding of local county policies and protocols.
- Willingness to work weekends, various shifts, and holidays.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
