Project Engineer Job Description

Hoffman Construction is seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team. As a Project Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with design professionals, clients, and subcontractors to address complex electrical coordination issues.
  • Lead quality control efforts onsite, including document review, commissioning, and punch list management.
  • Interpret construction documents and technical manuals.
  • Utilize the latest technology, including laser digital scanning, BIM, and Bluebeam document management.
  • Write and publish meeting minutes, schedule graphs, and activity checklists.
  • Receiving and distributing requests for information and change documents.
  • Organize and file record documents.
  • Field surveying and layout of control lines and benchmarks.
  • Information storage and retrieval using computer.
  • Technical advisor at onsite field construction office.
  • Ability to access all areas and levels of construction site for work progress review.
  • Responding to Requests For Information.
  • Lifting and carrying of documents and survey equipment up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to relocate.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or equivalent degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Education background in materials and methods of construction.
  • Experience in organizing technical data in a neat and accurate method.
  • Familiarity with CSI specification system for construction.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work closely with trade and craft people in a field work situation.
  • Skilled in handling several work activities at once while frequently interrupted by phone calls and urgent questions on work in progress.
  • Training in design document reading, design specifications, survey theory, and techniques.
  • Highly developed visual observation and interpretation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, Prolog, Procore, E-Builder laser digital Scanning, Building Information Model (BIM), Autocad, Navisworks, Bluebeam, Suretrack Project Manager, and Primavera Project Planner (P6).
